We the Braves of the various tribes |

dedicate the historical section of this website to the man whose skill at putting staff and campers at ease made possible the numerous candid photos that year after year adorned the Camp "Events" Board, the yearbooks and the Associates magazine. Rudy's images are works of art, and they show the dedication that he put into capturing for the future those Lightfoot moments we cherish. His love of the place and the people who gathered there plus his skill as a craftsman made this section of the Lightfoot web pages possible. |
We hereby bestow the Order
of the Gull upon Rudy, if that was not already done in
years past, in honor of his images of life at Camp.
The Camp Thomas E Lightfoot photographer for many years, Rudy Martikke is pictured below chatting with campers in the summer of 1970, just prior to his retirement. |

| In the mid-1990's Eastern Associated returned all of the materials
from Rudy's photography darkroom related to Camp Lightfoot to the Dining Hall at Camp. Bob Brown and David Ballard
preserved the photos, gave them to the people pictured when possible, and sent much of the rest of Rudy's collection
to Lightfoot Cabin 16 for the website project.
Additional materials came from the Camp Yearbook collections and Camp scrapbooks of several Braves. Therefore . . . |

We owe a special debt of gratitude for the generosity of Donna Merico Weir and her family for Yearbooks used in this section. David Miller contributed images scanned from his collection of Yearbooks. The Thackers (Dan & Malinda) and David Sinzheimer provided information and images from their extensive collections of Lightfoot Yearbooks & Camp memorabilia. Randall Vint supplied Yearbooks and staff photos. Linda Long Riley and Vicki Fassler contributed photos and staff pictures. David Ballard contributed photographs and a myriad of stories. |

The Counselor Reunion Committee welcomes your contributions to this project, and we have posted opportunities in various parts of the site, in case you wish to mail or email images, songs or stories from your summers in Hinton. Another option is to bring your cherished materials to the next reunion. Kindly look into your collection of memories from your "tribal years," and help us keep alive the spirit of Camp Thomas E Lightfoot. We hope you are enjoying these glimpses into the past, and will return often to see our collection grow. |

Okay, Braves, let's hear a BIG How! How! for all our contributors, past and future!
