Danna Cobb Paglino attended Camp Thomas E Lightfoot in the 1950's. She was a Junior Counselor 1956-57 and Intermediate Counselor in 1958. In 2005 she sent the Reunion Committee her recollections of visiting the funeral home following Ginny West's death in 1960 along with some of the remembrances of CTEL days that event stirred for her. Dick Jarvis was a Junior Counselor at Camp Lightfoot in the early 1940's when Virginia West was Water Safety Director. He says:
"I also remember West. She gave me my Jr Life Saving test. I thought she was going to drown me."

Virginia West recounted a story to David Ballard about the time in the late 1950's when the Camp Lightfoot bell rang unexpectedly one summer night at midnight.

As time went by, Dave and other eyewitnesses pieced together a more complete weaving of the intrigue involved. Some of the central players in those events besides Ballard and West were Bob McCoy, Kay Payne and Patty Stingo.

   A word about sound files:
Hoping to enhance our visitors' enjoyment of this site, we have placed a few snippets of sound here and there.

1) Different browsers handle these differently, so if you encounter problems, please let us know via email to the Alumni Association, so we can send the JC Boss to attempt repairs.

2) Download times vary depending partly on your connection to the internet, and the first time you hear a given audio file, the sound may be inconsistent and intermittent (jerky). Future playbacks should be smoother, unless you wait a long time between visits, or your browser is set to discard temporary web files after just a short period.

3) Our setup tries to make a control appear on your screen, so you can pause, rewind, stop or fastforward through the audio track, but different browsers handle this different ways.

4) Please tell us which sounds you enjoy.
