'Orange you glad there's Stella more' of

the story behind our replacement totem pole

as told by Stella Gerba Gore

All the while we were assembling the new totem pole, we had spectators watching us. Eastern Associated was having some training meetings at camp that weekend. Some of the folks had come down to use the pool, and just happened to notice us working. One man sat down in the Delaware tribal area and watched us the whole time. He had never been to Camp before, had never even heard of it before, and was totally amazed. The poor man was subjected to a lot of camp stories that afternoon. He even held the tape measure as we measured one of the tribal totem poles. It was great. The rest, as they say, is history! [See photo series below]

We learned a lot while working on Wakonda that we know will be useful when we move on to the next pole. Dina Cook and Nick Thacker should be getting us measurements for the Bigfoot and Hustler pole the weekend of October 10th and 11th, and we'll take it from there. How!How!
